TULSA -- Police are investigating two armed robberies they say may be linked together.
Just after 12:30 Sunday afternoon Tulsa Police were called to the Dollar General on South Sheridan where a armed robbery was in progress. 30 minutes later, police were dispatched to the Diamond Nails salon on east 31st street where another armed robbery was taking place.
Police said at both businesses a skinny and a heavy set black male wearing masks walked in pointing their pistols at employees and customers, demanding them to get on the ground and turn over their money, credit cards, phones and other personal belongings.
Officers said a female clerk at the Dollar General was pushed by one of the suspects and hit her head while falling. They said the suspects were seen in a red 4-door car leaving the Dollar General.
Witnesses told police two other people were in the getaway car while the suspects went inside to rob the store. Police said they’re continuing to search for those suspects at this time.
“We’re talking to witnesses, surrounding businesses looking at any evidence that we might have. We don’t have anyone in custody right now, but we’re working real hard to find these suspects,” said Tulsa Police Department, Sgt. Clay Ballenger.
Sgt. Ballenger said the suspects are believed to be brutal and violent criminals. Officers are asking those with any information to contact police.
