TULSA- We're not even a week into November. But for some shoppers, the online holiday shopping season is well underway.
It has become an annual tradition of sorts-- millions of packages nationwide will be stolen before the owner even knows they've been delivered.
As this home surveillance video shows, packages can be stolen any time, in any season. Police say these crimes happen all year, but there’s an uptick as Christmas approaches.
"They said that they're very overwhelmed at least in the burglary department he said he said he has 600 cases a month and we may not hear anything and it may be two weeks before it's assigned and we hear something, hopefully this is an open and shut case," said victim Kristi Frisbee.
The USPS and other carries, including UPS, offer services that allow packages delivered to an alternate location where the customer can pick it up by showing a government I.D.
Police also recommend having deliveries come to your workplace or a trusted neighbor you know will be home.
