Although it may feel as though the 2015-2016 school year just ended, many will be out shopping during Oklahoma's tax-free weekend beginning Aug. 5 to prepare for the upcoming school year.
Stores like Walmart, J.C. Penney, and others have special deals centered around the busy shopping weekend. However, due to the limited items customers can purchase on the Oklahoma sales tax list the cost of school supplies and other items can make a big difference at the cash register.
Tulsa Walmart Supercenter Assistant Manager, Jeff Berg, says due to the limitations shoppers encounter on the sales tax list large retailers are always looking to help people save money by lowering the prices of other items.
“To help off set that, the cost and all the different things going on especially the budget cuts here in Tulsa, we've implemented rollback.” Berg said.
Rollback along with other shopping campaigns are popular during high volume weekends to help people save money.
