Texas man arrested for 2012 slaying in Moore, Oklahoma

MOORE, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says a Texas man has been arrested for the 2012 death of his stepfather in Moore and another arrest is expected.

The OSBI says the 30-year-old suspect was arrested Thursday in Dallas for the death of 44-year-old William Cooksey. Court records do not show that formal charges have been filed.

The OSBI says the suspect and his roommate had driven from Dallas to Moore to pick up his mother's belongings because she and Cooksey -- her husband -- had been fighting.

The agency says the two men fought with Cooksey at his home and Cooksey was eventually knocked to the ground, then stomped on and kicked.

An autopsy found Cooksey died of blunt force injuries and possible asphyxia.
