The nation’s most extensive animal report was released this week citing certain policy amendments that could enrich the lives of animals.
The Kirkpatrick Foundation says that animals in rural areas are worse off than animals in urban areas. The primary cause, according to them, is that there is little structure in enforcement of the laws in place.
Policy changes that were suggested include using pain alleviation drugs during farm animal procedures. They also suggested updating and enforcing animal statues as well as requiring animal shelters to be licensed and inspected.
