OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- President Obama has nominated two Oklahomans to serve on the state's U.S. District Court for the Western District.
The two nominees were among four Obama announced Wednesday to serve on district courts.
Nominated were Judge Suzanne Mitchell, who's served as a U.S. magistrate judge for the Western District since 2013, and Scott L. Palk, who's served as the assistant dean for students and assistant general counsel at the University of Oklahoma College of Law since 2011.
Before her appointment as magistrate judge, Mitchell served as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Appellate Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office for Oklahoma's Western District from 2010 to 2013.
Palk is a consultant to the university's Threat Assessment Review Committee, advising in areas of criminal threat assessment and legal access.
