OKLAHOMA COUNTY – OSBI is investigating the death of an inmate who was being held at the Oklahoma County Jail.
This week Ismael Shee Liwanag was discovered unresponsive in his cell that he occupied alone. EMSA responded to the scene and brought Liwanag to a nearby hospital where he later died.
The medical examiner’s office is currently investigating the cause of death.
Liwanag was arrested in June 2015 for domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. At the time he was arrested, he also had warrants for his arrest for violation of a suspended sentence for rape in the first degree by instrumentation.
