OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An Oklahoma woman has been charged after being accused of killing her daughter by forcing a crucifix down her throat because she believed the 33-year-old woman had been possessed by the devil.
The Oklahoman reportsthat 49-year-old Juanita Gomez was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder in the death of Geneva Gomez.
Authorities say she was found dead at the suspect's Oklahoma City home on Aug. 28. The body was initially found by the woman's ex-boyfriend.
Court records say Juanita Gomez told police she believed her daughter was possessed. She said she punched her daughter and forced a crucifix and a religious medallion down her throat.
It was not immediately clear if Juanita Gomez has an attorney. She is being held in the Oklahoma County jail without bail.
