RANDLETT, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma police have discovered a woman's body in a vehicle abandoned on Interstate 44 in Cotton County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a trooper discovered the body Wednesday evening in the trunk of the vehicle near the Randlett exit.

The body was sent to the state Medical Examiner's Office, where officials will determine the woman's identity and cause of death. The vehicle was taken to Oklahoma City to be stored as evidence.

KSWO-TV reports that vehicle is described as a four-door car with Texas license plates. The investigation is ongoing.
