OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma says the former director of the state's Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs has taken over as chief executive officer of the volunteer organization.
The organization announced Monday that Darrell Weaver succeed Sharla Owens on Nov. 16, the day after his retirement from the bureau became official.
Weaver had worked for the narcotics bureau since 1987 and had been director since 2006.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma is a donor-supported volunteer organization that provides at-risk children with an adult mentor and friend.
