OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The life prison sentence received by a 28-year-old man convicted of shooting his brother to death has been upheld by the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.
Adrian Evan Chatman was convicted of first-degree murder by a jury in Oklahoma County for the 2013 shooting death of 29-year-old Michael Chatman.
Prosecutors alleged that Adrian Chatman fired one shot into the air before he shot his brother in the face outside a northwest Oklahoma City apartment complex. Adrian Chatman ran from the scene following the shooting and was caught by police on foot.
In upholding the conviction and life sentence, appellate judge s rejected Adrian Chatman's claim that the evidence used to convict him was insufficient. His attorney, Assistant Public Defender Marva Banks, had no comment on the court's ruling.
