NEW YORK (AP) -- Former Oklahoma Sooners head coach Barry Switzer has made his case to be the new "secretary of offense."
Switzer, the college football hall of fame coach who also led the Dallas Cowboys to a Super Bowl title in 1996, visited with President-elect Donald Trump Wednesday in New York.
Switzer joked that Trump wants to "make the wishbone great again."
"Donald plans to run with the ball. And I know a lot about rushing the football. So that's why I'm here," Switzer told reporters before his meeting with Trump.
Trump enjoyed support from some other big names in the NFL during his campaign, including Tom Brady. The four-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback for the New England Patriots sported a red "Make America Great Again" hat in his locker last year.
