TULSA - Economy Pharmacy Express in South Tulsa hosted its annual free backpack giveaway Saturday.
Every customer walked away with a backpack full of supplies for children 10 and under.
If a customer brought their kids with them they received a backpack per child.
“It’s our way of saying this is what we want to do to help anyone that needs school supplies," said Economy Pharmacy Director of Marketing Kathy King.
Many parents brought their kids hoping to save as much money as possible this back-to-school season.
Guadalupe Canela brought her six kids, niece and nephews.
“With the notebooks, and different schools, it’s not easy," she said.
The pharmacy hosts the event for one day every year during normal business hours. The pharmacy closes at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
