Shooter opens fire at Tallahassee yoga studio before killing himself

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A shooter opened fire in a Tallahassee yoga studio on Friday, then killed himself, police say.

According to the Tallahassee Police department, at 5:37 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to Hot Yoga Tallahassee located at 1950 Thomasville Road in reference to a shooting. When they arrived they found multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds.

Emergency responders transported five victims to local hospitals. One of the victims passed away at the hospital, another victim is in critical condition and the remaining three victims are in serious condition, police say.

Police say that the shooter was pronounced deceased on scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. 

Mayor of Tallahassee Andrew Gillum tweeted about law enforcement's quick response to the shooting. 

I’m deeply appreciative of law enforcement's quick response to the shooting at the yoga facility in Tallahassee today. No act of gun violence is acceptable. I'm in close communication with law enforcement officials and will be returning to Tallahassee tonight.
