SandRidge says antitrust investigation dropped

Posted

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma City-based SandRidge Energy Inc. says the U.S. Department of Justice has dropped an antitrust investigation into the company.

The oil and natural gas company said Friday in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it was notified Thursday that it is no longer the target of an investigation into possible antitrust violations in the purchase or lease of land, oil, or natural gas rights from 2012 and prior years.

SandRidge previously revealed that in December 2013 it received a subpoena from the Justice Department about the investigation. The Justice Department told the company in April 2015 that the grand jury in the western district of Oklahoma was involved.
