Glenpool, Okla. -- The Problem Solvers help a Glenpool woman who was fed up with a bill she never had to pay.
Karen Thompson began to get frustrated when a bill for $127.55 kept appearing in her mailbox every month.
She explained, “In November, I had a sleep study. They set me up with sleep remedies and a new sleep place to get my supplies.”
Thompson started getting packages from a company called Lincare and said, “I didn’t need the supplies they were sending. At first, I wasn’t even paying attention to what these boxes were.”
She received three boxes with medical supplies she did not need, so Thompson called Lincare headquarters to try to return the packages. She said she could never get a return label and found out there was a Lincare location in Tulsa, where she brought the packages instead.
Thompson even got a receipt saying “Patient returned unopened supplies to center” on March 5. She thought that would solve the problem and the bills would stop coming, but that was not the case. She continued to get the $127.55 bill month-after-month.
Thompson called the Problem Solvers, and we immediately took action and called multiple Lincare representatives at the corporate level, urging the company to look into Thompson’s problem and stop billing her.
The retiree said, “In a matter of five days, they solved the problem.”
Thompson got a letter from Lincare that said, “We have discovered that the bill you have been receiving . . . was billed in error.” The letter indicated Thompson had a zero balance.
“I was so happy because I was so tired of this. I’m just glad it’s taken care of,” Thompson said.
