"Gangnam Style" has broken YouTube.

According to a post on the video streaming site's Google Plus page, the wildly popular online video by South Korean singer and songwriter Psy has reached more than 2.1 billion views, and has caused it to have to upgrade the site to be able to keep counting.

The video on the "OfficalPsy" YouTube page has been viewed so many times it could no longer display a count number that includes commas, forcing YouTube to upgrade. It has more than 8.7 million "thumbs up" likes, and more than 1.1 million "thumbs down," or dislikes, from viewers.

"We never thought a video would be watched in numbers greater than a 32-bit integer (=2,147,483,647 views), but that was before we met PSY," the post says.
