Virginia Tech and William & Mary received email threats to their campuses, multiple outlets reported.
Campus police at Virginia Tech are investigating, the Washington Post reported. Police at William & Mary are doing the same, Richmond, Va.-based WRIC reported.
Five total universities received threats, the Washington Post reported. A campus newspaper, the Collegiate Times, reported the threatening email had the following one line.
"I am here to inform that in the next couple of days I will break into the campus and will kill as many people as I can until the police arrives," wrote the anonymous sender, according to the Collegiate Times.
Virginia Tech tweeted out a update on the situation late Monday afternoon.
