Shopping on Amazon this holiday season? Use these tricks to save some cash

It's hard to beat the convenience of online shopping during the holidays — you can stay nice and warm in the comfort of your own home while others fight crowds in the freezing cold.

And for those who plan to shop on Amazon, there are a few tricks to use to save a few extra bucks this holiday season.

Instead of shopping directly on Amazon's homepage, consumers can visit the Amazon Outlet. That's where the company hosts great deals on overstocked items.

Some items on the Amazon Outlet can be marked down to as low as 82 percent — but shoppers need to act quickly because the deals are only available for a limited time.

Shoppers can also visit the Amazon Warehouse for great online shopping deals. The Warehouse is where Amazon re-sells items that have been returned by other customers.

Shoppers should be cautious when shopping on Warehouse — some of the items sold on the page may be lightly used or previously opened. Amazon makes a note when an item for sale has been lightly used or previously opened.
