KINGFISHER, Okla. (AP) -- An Oklahoma man has been charged with killing his girlfriend then dismembering and burning her body.
Court records show 62-year-old Steven Stricker of Kingfisher is charged with first-degree murder and desecration of a body in the death of 56-year-old Barbara Bader.
Stricker pleaded not guilty during his initial court appearance Wednesday.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says Bader was reported missing April 4 by her sister.
The OSBI says Stricker later acknowledged that Bader was dead and her body had been dismembered and burned.
Investigators found suspected human remains at the home the two shared and were sent to the state medical examiner's office, which is working to identify the remains.
