A McDonald's cashier in Kenner, Louisiana is accused of taking photos of a customer's debit card, and then using the card's numbers to make purchases online, the Times Picayune reported

Ashley Chairs, 31, was charged with identity theft and three counts of illegally transferring monetary funds.

A police spokesperson alleged that Chairs took a picture of a customer's debit card on Jan. 21 while she was working the restaurant's drive-through window.

The victim then noticed that there had been $280 in charges from Victoria's Secret, in addition to charges totaling $800 from Kids Foot Locker and Da Hair Connect, a beauty supply store, a police spokesperson said. The charges were posted on the victim's bank account on Jan. 22.

The victim told police that Chairs walked out of their view with the debit card, as McDonald's surveillance cameras captured Chairs using a cellphone camera application while holding the debit card.

Chairs had a bond set for $40,500, but was released on Sunday due to crowding at the jail.
