Hip hop concert in Michigan canceled due to threat of 'possible mass shooting'

DETROIT — A threat of gun violence forced the cancellation of a hip hop concert in Sterling Heights, Michigan, on Sunday night.

Hip hop collective Beast Coast was scheduled to perform a concert at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill on Sunday.

According to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office, promoters were forced to cancel the concert due to a "possible mass shooting" threat.

The Sterling Heights Police Department was also notified of the shooting threat. They have turned the investigation over to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

According to 313 Presents, tickets can be refunded at point of purchase, and tickets purchased online or by phone will automatically be refunded.
