For the second time this week, the TSA has confiscated a rocket launcher at the Baltimore Washington Airport in Maryland.
According to a press release from the office of Maryland State Fire Marshall Brian Geraci, the TSA called the Maryland bomb squad Thursday morning when it found a rocket launcher tube in an American Airlines checked bag.
The launcher tube was not loaded and had been brought home by an American Air Force sergeant as a souvenir.
The bomb squad took possession of the launcher tube and said it would return it to the owner when it was deemed safe.
In a nearly identical situation Monday, TSA confiscated a missile launcher from a military member who brought the weapon home as a souvenir from Kuwait.
While the devices may not be live or loaded and pose little threat to passengers, the tubes may contain pressurized gas and are not allowed on commercial flights.
