HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Police in Florida are looking for a driver who was caught on camera running over a state trooper.

The footage shows Trooper Arsenio Caballero flying over the car's hood and landing on the side of a highway.

The hit and run happened in the middle of heavy traffic along the turnpike near the Pines Boulevard.

In the video, you see Trooper Caballero speaking to a motorist. Off to the left, another trooper was talking to a driver in a white car.

Caballero then crosses the road and is almost on the shoulder when the driver of the white car decides to simply speed away, hitting Caballero as he or she pulls into traffic.

The other trooper then took off on foot to try to help.

Caballero, who has only been on the force for a year, is out of the hospital and at home recovering.

The white car that hit him was later found abandoned, but the driver has not been located.

Police are urging anyone with information about the driver to call Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477(TIPS). You may be eligible for a $3,000 reward.
