Elizabeth Pena, actress, dies at 55

Elizabeth Pena, an actress known for roles in “La Bamba,” “Lone Star,” “Matador” and many others – has died.

She died Tuesday night at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Latino Review reports, at 55.

A prominent Hispanic actress, Pena's 40-year career spanned from dramatic film roles to TV sitcoms and cartoon voice acting.

She recently acted alongside Sofia Vergara on ABC's "Modern Family," where she played the role of Gloria's mother. In Pixar's "The Incredibles," she voiced the enigmatic character, Mirage.
