Arson investigators are on the scene of a suspected firebombing that happened early this Monday morning on Detroit's west side.

There were no injuries reported, and crews were able to rescue eight puppies from the fire.

The woman who lives there tells Detroit-based WXYZ that her and her husband had just gotten into bed when they heard explosions toward the back of their house. As smoke filled the halls, the couple managed to escape with their two dogs, but eight puppies were still trapped in the basement.

When firefighters arrived to battle the flames, they were able to get to the basement and rescue all eight puppies.
