Posted

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Police in Lexington said a bullet that appears to have been fired into the air just as new year started came through the roof of a house.

Officials said the incident occurred just after midnight on Radcliffe Road, not far from Winburn.

Police said three women were in the home at the time, but no one was injured. The women reportedly told police they didn't see or hear anything suspicious at the time.

Authorities said they had no suspects.

Police said they recovered a bullet fragment and took photographs of the damage.

Officials warn people not to fire weapons into the air during celebrations, which can be dangerous and lead to criminal charges.
