MUSKOGEE, Okla.— A Muskogee neighborhood remains on high alert as police warn parents about a possible child predator in the area.
Police have been investigating since Friday, when 2 young girls reported being approached by a man while playing near their home. The girls— one just 7 years old— told police the man made sexual comments before attempting to expose himself. It happened near Irving elementary school in Muskogee. He’s described as a white male in his 30’s. He was driving a back 4-door pick up truck.
Officers arrested another man Tuesday evening and charged him with indecent exposure. But Muskogee detectives say that man exposed himself to adults— and is not related to the incident involving children on Friday.
The grandmother of one of the young alleged victims from Friday says she is warning others in the area to remain alert.
"Angry kind of because there are people out there like that that people around Muskogee need to be aware that this guy is out there and he's doing this and saying things like this to kids and angry you have to keep a close eye on your kids right now, ” said Rhonda Norton of Muskogee.
Investigators say they originally thought the man arrested Tuesday could be linked to Friday’s incident, but say it appears they are still looking for the suspect accused of making lewd remarks to the children.
