TULSA - The Tulsa County District Attorney has filed formal charges in the death of a 1-year-old Tulsa girl.
Court documents detail charges of child abuse murder, two counts of child sexual abuse and one count of child neglect against Cody Alan Johnson - the boyfriend of 16-month-old Sawyer Paige Jefferson's mother.
Paige died the evening of December 6 at Saint Francis Hospital from injuries inflicted when prosecutors say Johnson sexually assaulted and physically abused her.

Officers say Johnson and Sawyer's mother took her to the emergency room on Saturday. They say Sawyer was in cardiac arrest and was unresponsive. Sawyer was put on life support and died Sunday night.
TPD says Sawyer suffered several face contusions and bruising and bleeding coming from her vagina and rectum. They said they were told that the child had "slipped on her pajamas and fell on her toy."
Both Johnson and Sawyer's mother say he was in sole care and custody at the time of her injury.
Johnson was booked into the Tulsa County Jail Sunday. Charges were filed Friday afternoon.
