Recalled: Seasonal Dove chocolates contaminated

Thousands of Dove chocolates have been recalled after a consumer noticed a piece of Snickers in a Dove seasonal assortment bag.

The assortment of chocolates could contain potential allergens like wheat, peanuts and egg not listed on the label.
Mars Chocolate North America says 6,700 cases of chocolates may have be contaminated with other popular chocolate pieces such as Snickers, Milky Way and Twix candy bars that contain ingredients that millions of Americans may be allergic to.

According to the FDA, all of the chocolates that were affected in production were sold from Sept. 19 to Dec. 1st and sold in more than 30 states including New York, Texas, Florida and California among others.

No allergic reactions have been reported due to the chocolates and Mars has begun refunding customers for the mishap.

The recall affects UPS Number 400050521 and the following lot codes: 537CG4PA30, 537DG4PA30, 538AG4PA30, 538AM4PA30, 541AG4PA20, 542EM4PA20.
