TULSA — A year-long construction project will begin on Highway 11 Monday morning.
ODOT is spending $9 million to rehab eight bridges.
The construction will span from the I-244 and Highway 11 juncture to just north of Memorial.
Lanes and ramps will be closed until sometime in 2020.
Spokeswoman Kenna Mitchell said it will impact travels to the Tulsa International Airport and people should plan to leave early to get there.
This is the third project ODOT started in the last week.
Last week, construction started on US-64 in Bixby and US-75 southbound in the IDL.
"A lot of it has to do with the age and condition of our system," Mitchell said. "We've been able to take on quite a few of the most critical projects over the last several years and we're to the point now where we are able to do some of the preventive work."
