TULSA – As clues about gunshots heard in a neighborhood started to dwindle, a victim was found nearby with gunshot wounds to the chest
Around 1 a.m. residents in the neighborhood just south of the mall say they heard loud gunshots in the complex.
When police arrived they were unable to find anyone at first, then a 31-year-old victim came forward.
She arrived at a hospital nearby and is expected to survive, despite the severity of her wound.
Residents in the neighborhood say they took cover for safety when the shots rang out.
"This is too close to home and it could've been kids that got hit and it's not safe."
Now, Tulsa police are combing the area to search for evidence and discover who is responsible. Police say they have conflicting reports from witnesses but they are still investigating.
