OHP identify woman who ran from EMSA; hit by car

Posted
The Oklahoma Highway patrol has identified a Sand Springs woman who died after being hit by a car on Highway 412.

Around 1:30 a.m. Friday morning, EMSA was transporting 47-year-old Kelly Nails to St. John's Hospital.

Troopers say the ambulance pulled over just west of 49th West Avenue when Nails became combative.

They say she fled from the ambulance and ran across the highway into the westbound lanes.

Troopers say Nails was then hit by a Honda Civic. She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

OHP says no one else was hurt. They say the pedestrian's action caused the crash.
