TULSA – A woman was pronounced dead this morning after being struck by a vehicle while running on a highway road.

Amanda Dooley, also known as Amanda Martin, 34, was pronounced dead Tuesday night after suffering injuries sustained when a truck hit her, says Tulsa police.

Martin was running westbound in the eastbound lanes of SH-11 south of East Pine Street, confirm authorities.

Police say Martin was riding with Travis Casey, 34, when she reportedly threw a cell  phone out of the window. Casey then stopped the vehicle and told Martin to run and retrieve it, says Tulsa police.

The driver of the truck, Doug Richison, was eastbound and attempted to swerve and miss Martin but was not able to and hit her.

Tulsa police went on to say that no one was arrested or given a citation at the scene of the wreck.
