Tulsa police say a woman set multiple fires in an apartment and was standing on the balcony when first responders arrived to see smoke pouring from the unit.

Janelle Money was arrested for first-degree arson and three complaints of endangering human life. After a medical evaluation, she was booked into the Tulsa County jail in lieu of $80,000 bond.

Investigators say she “willfully and maliciously” set fire to the occupied multi-family dwelling on North 11th Street just before 11 a.m. on Thursday.

A police report says officers had to forcibly remove Money from the apartment to place her into custody.

“The fire also placed the entire building in danger as well as the occupants that were present,” the report says. “The suspect also endangered officers’ lives… they were inside apartment 212 when the fire was burning and went above and beyond by forcing suspect out of the burning apartment.”

One apartment was destroyed and several occupants in other units were displaced because of the fire, according to the report.
