SKIATOOK, Okla. – A woman was taken into custody this week for allegedly leaving three children, two under 12 months of age, while she went to an event.
Samantha Williams was arrested for child abuse and neglect after a welfare check revealed three children in her care living in a home with no running water or electricity.
Authorities say the woman put in charge of the children was not able to make formula for the two 10-month-olds, nor did she know how to care for the 6-year-old child who requires a feeding tube and is mentally handicap.
According to authorities, the six-year-old requires the feeding tube every two hours.
Because of this, an emergency vehicle was called to the home to check the health of the children. According to official documents, the 6-year-old had to be transported to a nearby hospital due to pneumonia type symptoms. Authorities say the child was taken out of a bed that smelled like urine.
When Williams arrived home, she reportedly told authorities that she thought the children were being cared for by neighbors. When questioned, the neighbor said they were never asked to care for the children.
