Sims denied request to quash arrest

TULSA – On Friday, a judge denied the motion to quash the arrest against a woman accused of corpse cutting.

Sims is accused of slashing the body of her husband's former girlfriend. Police say Shaynna Sims cut the other woman's body during a funeral home viewing last year.

One charge of larceny was lifted for Shaynna Sims, however. The reasoning behind dropping the larceny charge is that the theft of a dead person is difficult to prove because larceny by definition is taking the right to possess something from a person.

Last month, Sims' lawyer filed a motion to quash the arrest, suppress evidence and dismiss the charges against her.
