Winter weather advisory in effect for northeastern Oklahoma through Tuesday

TULSA, Okla. — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory through 6 a.m. Wednesday for portions of Oklahoma, including areas of Green Country and Northwest Arkansas.

Meteorologist Mike Collier says the storm could move into the metro area between 2-6 p.m.

According to the NWS, a sleet/snow mix is possible on Tuesday between U.S. Highway 75 and U.S. 69.

Rain/freezing rain/sleet/snow is is possible east of U.S. 69., the NWS says. Freezing drizzle could fall Tuesday evening.

NWS projects 1-2 inches of snow and sleet west of U.S. 75, and less than 1 inch of snow and sleet east of U.S. 75 in Oklahoma and Arkansas.

A light glaze of ice is possible throughout the advisory area.
