MUSKOGEE — Veterans and families are lining up at a Muskogee charity for some extra warmth this winter.

Hundreds of warm winter coats at The Barracks in Muskogee are on the table ready to be worn by our men and women who served.

The Barracks is a charity that takes care of Muskogee’s veterans.

The group is still getting its housing facility ready, but the charity wanted to make sure veterans were ready this holiday season.

“It’s been tremendous and really with this kind of support from the community no body in Muskogee should go cold, nobody,” said Ray Blanton, an Air Force Veteran and member of The Barracks.

The coat drive is gaining popularity and the The Barracks has opened up the drive to everyone in the community.

The coat drive in Muskogee continues Thursday and runs thru Friday.

The Barracks said it will take any extra coats to a local church.
