TULSA, Okla. — For those looking for work right now, we want to help. For our 'Rebound Green Country' initiative, we are highlighting positions available within Tulsa County District Attorney's Office during the coronavirus pandemic.

Tulsa's District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler says he's met many great people in the past 30 years he's work for Tulsa's DA office.

He tells 2 Works for You, the DA's office could be a great opportunity for someone who's been laid off because of COVID-19.

“We are continuing to hire, and I have noticed a lot of folks who have been laid off or furloughed who have specifically contacted your office to ask if there is any type of employment options and we are certainly going to be looking for the best candidates out there,” Kunzweiler said.

Kunzweiler says although they are working from home, they still have plenty of vacancies to fill in the department, and he knows what he's looking for.

“A couple simple things, Do you know what hard work is?" Kunzweiler said. "And then, can you communicate, I mean that is the bottom line of this job, it is a triage operation everyday and you need to be able to pick priority cases and protect my public.”

Kunzweiler says as long as job candidates can handle pressure and make intelligent decisions, he can teach anyone the job.

“Obviously you have to have some basic fundamental competence, but in the end of the day, people who understand what hard work is, and know how to communicate with other people is two really important variables for me and then we will teach you how to do the job," Kunzweiler said.

With some hard work and communication, you could be the prefect candidate.

“If anyone has an interest in working for the District Attorneys Office, it’s great place to work, I have been doing this for over 30 years and have met a lot of great people who are certainly good employees,” Kunzweiler said.
