It’s Teacher Appreciation Week and so we took the time to ask our fellow co-workers who their favorite educators were over the years.

Check out the responses below!

Chief Meteorologist Brett Anthony

Mrs Strezeleski, my 6th grade Social Studies teacher. She told us in 1977 that the Soviet Union would break up. Then 12 years later, the first elections since 1917 were held in the USSR that eventually led to the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

I come from a family of teachers. So, my favorite teachers are my wife, mom, and dad. But, I also loved my high school anatomy teacher Mrs. Fleming. We got to dissect things in her class, and she pricked my finger once to show me how blood clots! Plus, she had tons of school spirit and heckled the refs at our school’s basketball games. My favorite fictional teacher is John Keating (Robin Williams) from Dead Poets Society. O Captain, My Captain! #CarpeDiem

Gitzel: My fifth grade teacher, Mrs. West. She picked some of her students to help usher at The Nutcracker because her daughters were in the ballet. Thanks to her I've always enjoyed the arts!

One of my favorite teachers was a high school math teacher. Mr. Gross managed to make geometry and calculus not only understandable but also fun. He inspired his students and challenged us all to learn and study.
