The most important thing voters need to bring to the polls is an Oklahoma Identification Card. The ID cannot be an out of state ID, and it cannot be expired. However, there is somewhere voters can go Monday to renew their ID or get a new one, no appointment necessary.
The Town West Tag Agency is accepting walk-ins.
To renew or get a new ID, people will need two forms of identification, primary and secondary. For example, a birth certificate, social security card, or passport.
Karin Montes, Town West Tag Agency manager said she understands the frustration surrounding month-long wait times for ID's. Montes said people might still have to wait 30 minutes to an hour before leaving with a new ID, but she will make sure they leave with what they need.
“We decided to do walk-ins because people need their licenses and ID’s today, not a month from now, or three months from now,” Montes said.
If voters do not have time to get their ID renewed Monday, they can use their voter registration card instead. Also, a Real ID is not necessary to vote, as a normal driver's license works just fine.
The Town West Tag Agency is open Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is located at 5610 West Skelly Drive in Tulsa.
