STILLWATER, Okla. — City leaders in Stillwater are concerned a music festival in Payne County could further spread COVID-19 into the community.

Weedstock Festival is being held at the Tumbleweed Dance Hall from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20.

The three day festival will host several bands and is expected to draw thousands of people.

This comes one day after Stillwater Mayor William Joyce amended the current ordinance cracking down on limiting social gatherings and the wearing of face coverings.

Joyce fears this festival will be a "hot-bed" for contracting COVID-19 and has the potential to spread throughout the community.
