TULSA-- We The People Oklahoma is kicking off it's Louisiana Flood Disaster Drive this week at different mobile locations around Tulsa.
People can drop off items including bottled water, non-perishable food, cleaning supplies or anything disaster victims might need to help them recover from the flood.
The organization is taking the donations with them to Louisiana on September 2nd to give to the flood victims. Organizers said with so many families in Louisiana dealing with the devastation from the recent disaster, it's important to help out any way possible.
"It's rewarding, because when we have problems here in Oklahoma we also get help from other people too, so it's just our time to give back and that's what we're doing," said We The People Oklahoma Community Organizer Marq Lewis.
We The People Oklahoma will continue taking donations until September 1st.
