TULSA, Okla. — RibCrib is hosting the "We Love You Blue" fundraiser in support of the families of the two officers shot in Tulsa. It starts next week at the downtown location.

On June 29, Sgt. Craig Johnson and Officer Aurash Zarkeshan responded to a routine traffic stop in east Tulsa. Both were shot multiple times during the stop and taken to local hospitals in critical condition.

On June 30, Sgt. Johnson passed away from his injuries. Officer Zarkeshan is still in the hospital and showing improvement as of July 1.

The community continues to wrap their arms around the Johnson family and the Tulsa Police Department by holding vigils and leaving words of love and support on Johnson's patrol car outside Saint Francis Hospital.

RibCrib says Johnson was a regular at their Blue Dome location in downtown Tulsa.

Therefore, the restaurant is holding a fundraiser all week, starting July 6 through July 10, and donating 100% of profits to both the Johnson and Zarkeshan families through the Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police Benevolence Fund.

Our hearts are broken for the family of Sgt. Johnson and we continue to pray for Officer Zarkeshan and his family as he recovers. Sgt. Johnson was a regular at our RibCrib Blue Dome location in downtown Tulsa and it’s just hard to imagine that we will never see him walk through the door again. Our law enforcement officers need the help of our community and I encourage everyone across Tulsa to find a way to show their support for those who do the job right and work tirelessly to serve and protect.

The "We Love You Blue" fundraiser will begin each day at 11 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. RibCrib urges supporters to think about takeout or delivery in addition to eating inside the restaurant, as they continue to operate according to health guidelines due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Whether you decide to eat inside or order takeout or delivery, one thing is for certain – Tulsa is a resilient community and we are proud to offer RibCrib as a hub to rally together and help the families of these officers. Raising some much-needed money for the families is the least we can do to show our support and honor their service.
