Water release increasing at Oologah Lake spillway

Posted
and last updated

From Coffeyville, the Verdigris River eventually flows into Oologah Lake, which is nearly 27-feet above normal.

Officials are working to lessen further flooding.

The Army Corps shared a video with us, showing the spillway releasing huge amounts of water yesterday.

Right now, the water release is about 65,000 cubic feet per second - that's the same as 455,000 gallons of water per second.
