TULSA – Commuters were cautioned to avoid a water main break near east Tulsa Tuesday morning.
The 8-inch break was located near 42nd and Mingo and the northbound lanes from 42nd to the Broken Arrow Expressway were shut down temporarily as crews worked on the issue.
Crews were able to repair the break before noon, but the roads remained closed as they repaired the streets.
The southbound lanes were open; one lane is still being used for southbound traffic while the other is being used for diverted northbound traffic.
As of Tuesday morning it appeared that no businesses or homes were affected by the break.
Crews say that by the end of Tuesday, one northbound lane should be reopened. They went on to say that both northbound lanes are expected to be open by the end of Wednesday.
