The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says one suspect is on the run after a high-speed chase ended in a fiery crash Monday evening.
Troopers say they chased an SUV on rural roads for five miles at speeds reaching 120 miles per hour. According to OHP, the chase ended in a crash near Vera.
Following the crash, the driver allegedly fled the scene. One woman suffered a broken leg and was taken to the hospital in stable condition, says OHP.
Troopers say they tried to pull over the driver around 4:30 p.m. for following too close. When troopers asked the vehicle to pull up and over to the side of the road, they say the driver accelerated and took off. They say the pursuit lasted six minutes.
OHP says they believe they know who the driver is but they are not releasing his name. It's unknown why the man ran away from troopers.
