Volunteers feed Tulsa children over Winter break

TULSA -- Volunteers are marking sure no child in Tulsa goes hungry over the Winter break.

The Community Food Bank handed out hundreds of meals Wednesday for students in Tulsa.

There are more than 800 students identified as homeless in the Tulsa School District, so for many kids the only meals they get are served at school.

Volunteers used the food donated from the community to dish out hot meals to kids while they're out for winter break.

"It has an immediate impact on our community because I’m using that very food to make food for these children," said Taelor Barton, with the Community Food Bank.

The food trucks will be out in the neighborhoods over the next several days, and the following week before the kids go back to school.
