Vinita Public Schools announced on Facebook they will be temporarily moving to distance learning for the high school for October 5th-9th.
During that time period no students will be allowed at the high school to allow cleaning. The district will begin contact tracing for all parents and students who are affected by the most recent positive case.
According to the social media post, all extra curricular activities are canceled for October 5th-9th for the high school and middle school. This includes the Cross Country Meet at Cushing on October 8th, and the football game against Holland Hall on October 9th.
The temporary distance learning is only in effect for the high school, all other sites will continue in-person classes.
Vinita Public Schools Superintendent, Kelly Grimmett, says "We are asking our high school students to stay quarantined as much as possible this week. If you must get out please wear a mask and practice your social distancing. Thank you for your patience and your cooperation during this time".
